Hearses & Passenger Vehicles

The vast majority of people choose a traditional cortege of a modern hearse and luxury limousines to deliver their loved one to their final resting place. However, if you would like an alternative way to honour your loved one, horse drawn hearses and more unusual modes of transport are all available.

It is important to us that we respect our planet not only for ourselves but for the benefit of future generations. Motor vehicle technology advances rapidly and so we remain committed to maintaining up to date vehicles which are fuel efficient, have better safety features and are reliable and kinder to the environment; what’s more, they look good too.

Once you have chosen your preferred means of transport, we can discuss the funeral route. Many people like to choose a route that passes by a place that want a lot to the person who has passed away. This could be a favourite pub or restaurant, the local bowling club or park.

Our traditional funeral fleet is based upon modern black Jaguar vehicles. Our prestigious hearses are spacious and can accommodate most choices of coffins and caskets together with floral tributes of varying sizes and styles.

In addition to our Jaguar vehicles, we also have a Mercedes E Class hearse and limousine which are both silver for those people who prefer not to feature black in their funeral arrangements.

Wheelchair friendly vehicle

For those who require specialist transport that will accommodate a wheelchair we have our Renault Trafic wheelchair friendly vehicle.  Our specially trained staff will assist you throughout and the vehicle blends well with our funeral fleet so those with mobility issues can still be part of the main funeral cortege.

This purpose built vehicle has a rear ramp, is air conditioned and is fitted with appropriate wheelchair securing devices. Passengers can remain in their wheelchair throughout the journey. Motorised scooters can also be carried, but users are required to occupy a vehicle seat throughout the journey. A 12 volt power supply is available if medical equipment needs to be carried.

Horse drawn hearses

The splendour a horse drawn hearse can bring to a funeral cortege is of particular interest to many. With two, four or even six horses they are traditionally available in black with black horses, silver with grey horses and white with white horses.  However, horse drawn hearses can also be hired in a range of colours including pink and navy blue.  A choice of coloured plumes selected to reflect a particular theme or nationality completes the turnout.

Safety first

As you would expect we are required to observe the traffic laws. We will not compromise safety and consequently respectfully ask that if children are traveling in our limousines they must use an appropriate child seat where the law requires.  Currently, children must use such a seat unless they are 12 years old or have reached 135cms in height.  Where a child seat is required it should be provided and fitted by the child’s parent or guardian.
